Clip 7/7 Speaker: Alexander Gazet (Sogeti ESEC Research & Development), Yoann Guillot (Sogeti ESEC Research & Development) Metasm, is a binary manipulation framework (disassembly, compilation, executable formats handling, etc.). currently supports x86 (32 and 64 bits) MIPS and PowerPC architectures. One of its distinctive characteristic, is the encoding of instructions semantics. Based on this semantic encoding, the disassembler takes advantage of what we call a backtracking engine (symbolic emulation) that allows a very fine disassembly. Using the encoded semantics of instruction, we have been developing a generic approach on x86 code virtualization based protection. We also used some optimization techniques to defeat obfuscation, and compilation to defeat virtualization. Moreover, there is a very new feature of Metasm: a C decompiler. We have already started to port the optimization into the decompiler with good results. Our talk will illustrate these different functionalities of Metasm, based on concrete results we have obtained against different state of the art software protections involving heavy obfuscation and code virtualization. I thought it would be good to see some videos of this game other than the Spectrum and Amiga ones already on YouTube, so here's the Commodore 64 version! While the Amstrad version had to go all low-resolution to raise the number of colors, this system was able to mix in some high-resolution objects while still keeping it colorful. Characters aren't put as far out of reach, and the dialogs have been enlivened a bit, although there seem to be more typos than ever. The scoring system is simplified too; you no longer receive points for hearts or eggs, so it's only the 250 points from cherries plus the Perfect Bonus now. WinVICE's recording isn't perfect, but it'll do for now. This wasn't done single-segment; I actually abused the "Recording Milestone" function quite a lot just to pull off some better stunts and not waste time. But I left in a few mistakes, sometimes done on purpose just to show off more "failure conditions". :) In this level it turns out it's possible to jump from the elevators up to the next level without leaving a weight on the button if you can stop the elevator at exactly the right place, but I didn't bother recording it because I figured it would be too annoying to set up, and I wanted to play somewhat normally. I also found out that the event flag for Denzil finishing the glasses is set by talking to Dylan. I guess they wanted you to get the newspaper and glasses around the same time. So the story of this level is, Dizzy goes to a whole lot of trouble ...

Duration : 5.05 Mins. Smith and Wesson 22 Military and Police (M&P22) Pistol, chambered in .22LR rimfire. This is a range review, I fired approx 150 rounds of CCI Mini-Mag 40 grain, and Federal Value Pack. This pistol function perfect, I had no jams or problems of any type. Summary of what I am saying in the video: I fired CCI mini mags, and Federal Value Pack, the gun was fine with both, no problems. The magazine holds 12 rounds. The magazine is easy to load by hand, the spring tension is easy to operate. After the range session, I did a field-strip and cleaning: I did not notice any metal shavings or wear patterns, everything looked okay. Some people on-line have asked me to try different types of ammo, but I only have these two types of ammo on-hand (CCI and Federal). I've had problems in previous rimfire firearms with Remington Golden Bullet and Winchester 333, so I don't buy them anymore. I fire the M&P .22 with the M&P 9mm and show a side-by-side shooting comparison. Comparing the 3 firearms side-by-size: Ruger 22/45, M&P 22, and M&P 9 Pro. It's only been 150 rounds but the trigger on the M&P 22 takes a bit more force, it is a clean break but is heavier than the M&P Pro trigger. I'm very satisfied with this firearm, especially that it was new and ran without any jams or problems right out-of-the-box.I had to adjust my point-of-aim on the M&P 22 vs my M&P 9mm, one needs to hold at he top of the metal plate and another needs to hold at the bottom of the plate.
